Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) aims to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of treatment through real-time imaging monitoring. IGRT utilizes imaging technologies (such as 2D X-ray images, 3D and 4D cone beam computed tomography [CBCT], etc.) to obtain real-time images of the patient before and during radiotherapy, in order to verify the tumor's position. These images are compared and adjusted against the treatment planning images to ensure that the radiation target area is accurately directed at the tumor while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues, achieving higher positioning accuracy and reducing localization errors.
